KTH-MIT Senseable Stockholm Lab is a collaboration launched in 2019, funded by City of Stockholm, KTH, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, and Newsec. The focus of the seminar will be on one of the studies, investigating urban segregation.

Scaper is a model of how individuals plan their daily travelling and activities developed at the division of Systems Analysis and Economics at KTH. It provides an agent based simulation for how people travel within Stockholm, where they go and when they are there. It thus provides a tool for analysing, e.g., co- presence within the city. Especially, the model can be used to analyse how different policy measures can effect co- presence or other segregation indicators. In this workshop we will present Scaper and discuss how it will be used within the urban segregation project.

Co-presence in time and space also impact the spread of infectious diseases such as Covid-19. In an ongoing project, Scaper is used to simulate how individuals, when travelling to work and other activities, may spread Covid-19 between and within different areas of Stockholm.
