S\u00e5 h\u00e4r ser rutinerna ut: En g\u00e5ng i veckan tr\u00e4ffar jag v\u00e5rt administrativa team f\u00f6r att diskutera de olika rekryteringarna och docentans\u00f6kningarna. Varannan vecka ger jag ITM:s ledning och chefer en statusuppdatering och tar in synpunkter p\u00e5 vissa fr\u00e5gor, till exempel <a href=\"https:\/\/intra.kth.se\/aktuellt\/nyheter\/anstallningsordning-ses-over-1.1189477\">\u00f6versynen av KTH:s anst\u00e4llningsordning<\/a>. <span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">Jag har \u00e4ven tr\u00e4ffat *FFA-kollegor tillsammans med dekanus och prodekanus p\u00e5 KTH. Genom alla nya personliga m\u00f6ten har jag l\u00e4rt k\u00e4nna ITM-fakulteten lite b\u00e4ttre \u2013 kanske den mest intressanta delen av jobbet!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Den h\u00e4r veckan skulle jag vilja lyfta fram de senaste ITM-rekryteringarna grundade i de tv\u00e5 senaste \u00e5rens verksamhetsplaner och som d\u00e4rigenom finansierats med centrala medel. Tre av fyra planerade rekryteringar f\u00f6r 2021 \u00e4r i hamn och dessa personer \u00e4r nu ombord:<\/p>\n<p>INDEK: Philip Kappen (lektor i industriell ekonomi)<\/p>\n<p>L\u00e4rande: Stefan Stenbom (lektor i digitalt l\u00e4rande)<\/p>\n<p>Energiteknik: Farzin Golzar (bitr\u00e4dande lektor i energiteknik)<\/p>\n<p>V\u00e4lkommen Philip, Stefan och Farzin!<\/p>\n<p>Institutionen f\u00f6r Produktionsutveckling (IPU) h\u00e5ller p\u00e5 att rekrytera en bitr\u00e4dande professor i datadriven produktionslogistik som vi hoppas kunna v\u00e4lkomna i b\u00f6rjan av 2023. F\u00f6r 2022 planerar institutionerna f\u00f6r materialvetenskap, produktionsutveckling och maskinkonstruktion att rekrytera bitr\u00e4dande professorer inom sina strategiska omr\u00e5den.<\/p>\n<p>Ta en titt p\u00e5 datumen ovan s\u00e5 ser du att rekryteringar tar tid. F\u00f6rst ska institutionen i samr\u00e5d med mig och skolchef P\u00e4r J\u00f6nssson ta fram en motivering till rekryteringen som ska vara i enlighet med fakultetens \u00e5rliga planer. N\u00e4r KTH:s Anst\u00e4llningsn\u00e4mnd har godk\u00e4nt tj\u00e4nsten kan den utlysas. Kandidater skickar in ans\u00f6kningar och tv\u00e5 externa experter granskar CV:n och v\u00e4ljer ut de b\u00e4sta kandidaterna. Intervjuerna genomf\u00f6rs av en rekryteringsn\u00e4mnd och deras rekommendationer vidarebefordras till KTH:s anst\u00e4llningsn\u00e4mnd. D\u00e4refter kan skolchefen eller rektorn ta beslut.<\/p>\n<p>Hela processen som beskrivs h\u00e4r tar 10-12 m\u00e5nader, med noggranna uppf\u00f6ljningar av administrat\u00f6rer och andra inblandade. S\u00e5, lite t\u00e5lamod \u00e4r p\u00e5 sin plats, och f\u00f6rhoppningsvis leder den l\u00e5nga processen till att vi kan attrahera de b\u00e4sta talangerna som kan b\u00e5de st\u00e4rka KTH:s varum\u00e4rke och g\u00f6ra avtryck p\u00e5 omv\u00e4rlden.<\/p>\n<p><em>*FFA st\u00e5r f\u00f6r Fakultetsf\u00f6rnyelseansvarig och det finns en p\u00e5 varje skola p\u00e5 KTH.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\/Andrew Martin, ansvarig f\u00f6r fakultetsf\u00f6rnyelse (FFA) p\u00e5 ITM-skolan<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Faculty recruiting \u2013 yes, it takes time<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Just about two months into the new position and I feel that I am getting a handle on the main aspects of the critical task of faculty renewal. This is what my routines look like: Once a week I meet with our administrative team to discuss the various recruitments including docentship applications. Every second week I inform ITM leadership and managers of the overall status and ask for input on certain issues, for instance the <a href=\"https:\/\/intra.kth.se\/en\/aktuellt\/nyheter\/anstallningsordning-ses-over-1.1189477\">review of KTH\u2019s appointment procedures (anst\u00e4llningsordning)<\/a>. I have also met with **FFA colleagues along with KTH\u2019s dean and the vice dean of faculty. Through various personal interactions I have gotten to know ITM faculty a little better \u2013 possibly the most interesting part of the job!<\/p>\n<p>This week I would like to highlight recent ITM recruitments supported with central funds through the workplans from the last two years. Three of four recruitments for 2021 have been completed with the following faculty now on board:<\/p>\n<p>INDEK: Philip Kappen (Associate Professor in Industrial Economics)<\/p>\n<p>Learning: Stefan Stenbom (Associate Professor in Digital Learning)<\/p>\n<p>Energy Technology: Farzin Golzar (Assistant Professor in Energy Technology<\/p>\n<p>Welcome Philip, Stefan, and Farzin!<\/p>\n<p>The department of Production Engineering (IPU) is in the process of recruiting an Assistant Professor in Data-driven Production Logistics, and we hope to welcome our new faculty member in early 2023. For 2022 MSE, IPU, and MMK plan to recruit assistant professors in strategic fields within each department\u2019s specialization.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at the dates above you can see that faculty recruitments take time. First the department in consultation with the Head of School (P\u00e4r J\u00f6nsson) and me draft a motivation for recruitment, in accordance with annual faculty plans. The position is announced upon approval from the KTH Employment Committee. Candidates apply and two external experts review the CV\u2019s and select the top candidates. Interviews are conducted by a recruitment board, and recommendations are forwarded to the KTH Employment Committee for subsequent decision by the Head of School or president.<\/p>\n<p>The entire process outlined here takes 10-12 months, with vigilant follow-ups by administrators and others involved.
