P\u00e5 agendan stod verksamhetsst\u00f6dets roll n\u00e4r KTH inf\u00f6r skoln\u00e4mnder. KTH har kommit att bli ett l\u00e4ros\u00e4te med utpr\u00e4glad linjestyrning, vilket har lett till upplevelsen att det akademiska medborgarskapet har minskat. Vissa har k\u00e4nt att beslut saknat bred f\u00f6rankring. Som verksam inom verksamhetsst\u00f6det har jag nog inte riktigt sett och upplevt den f\u00f6r\u00e4ndring som skett under tid, man blir helt enkelt lite hemmablind. Men nu \u00e4r det dags att inr\u00e4tta skoln\u00e4mnder, en p\u00e5 varje skola.<\/p>\n<p>Fr\u00e5gan under internatet var: Hur ska vi inom st\u00f6dverksamheten kunna m\u00f6ta f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntningarna fr\u00e5n de nya skoln\u00e4mnderna? Hur ska vi kunna ge relevant support? Ska samtliga skoln\u00e4mnder kunna f\u00f6rv\u00e4nta sig ett enhetligt st\u00f6d? Och: Hur skulle detta st\u00f6d kunna utformas?<\/p>\n<p>Jag minns mina f\u00f6rsta \u00e5r p\u00e5 KTH d\u00e5 prefekten p\u00e5 INDEK sa: \u201dCarlsson! Du m\u00e5ste skilja p\u00e5 inneh\u00e5ll och form!\u201d D\u00e5 och d\u00e5 t\u00e4nker jag p\u00e5 detta, trots att det f\u00f6rmodligen g\u00e5tt 30 \u00e5r sedan dess. Som nu under internatet: det slog mig att inneh\u00e5llet arbetar vi med dagligen i olika sammanhang och organisatoriska niv\u00e5er. Det \u00e4r formen f\u00f6r hur vi hanterar de dagliga uppgifterna inom verksamhetsst\u00f6det som kommer att beh\u00f6va en ny form. Vi p\u00e5 skolorna har inte traditionen av att arbeta s\u00e5 f\u00f6rvaltningsm\u00e4ssigt som de som arbetar inom gamla GVS (numera SAK). Vi pratar inte i termer av beredning, beredningsm\u00f6te, protokoll (ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r anteckningar); att handlingar ska vara n\u00e4mnden tillhanda minst en vecka f\u00f6re m\u00f6tet etc. Det inneb\u00e4r inte att vi har d\u00e5lig koll p\u00e5 l\u00e4get, vi har bara haft ett annat f\u00f6rh\u00e5llningss\u00e4tt.<\/p>\n<p>Vi konstaterade att vi inte beh\u00f6ver mer resurser f\u00f6r det nya arbetss\u00e4ttet, det r\u00f6r sig snarare om att paketera redan befintliga uppdrag och arbetsuppgifter p\u00e5 ett likv\u00e4rdigt s\u00e4tt p\u00e5 skolorna. Vi diskuterade \u00e4ven vilka fr\u00e5gor som kommer att ligga inom linjeorganisationen och vilka fr\u00e5gor vi tror kommer att tas i skoln\u00e4mnden. Det var inte l\u00e4tt att sortera i detta. Men vi gjorde ett tappert f\u00f6rs\u00f6k och kom en bit p\u00e5 v\u00e4g tillsammans, liksom att f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka f\u00f6rst\u00e5 vad denna f\u00f6r\u00e4ndring inneb\u00e4r f\u00f6r oss inom verksamhetsst\u00f6det. Svaret p\u00e5 detta har vi inte \u00e4nnu, men vi kommer att g\u00f6ra v\u00e5rt b\u00e4sta f\u00f6r att m\u00f6ta de f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntningar som en skoln\u00e4mnd har p\u00e5 oss. Naturligtvis m\u00e5ste vi tillsammans diskutera f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntningarna n\u00e4r samtliga skoln\u00e4mnder \u00e4r p\u00e5 plats p\u00e5 nya \u00e5ret.<\/p>\n<p>Ett konstaterade vi dock; en skolchef som ser sin skoln\u00e4mnd som en tillg\u00e5ng kommer att f\u00e5 ett otroligt st\u00f6d i alla de viktiga fr\u00e5gor d\u00e4r hen idag ofta \u00e4r ensam i beslutsfattandet.<\/p>\n<p>\/Christina Carlsson, Administrativ chef p\u00e5 ITM-skolan<\/p>\n<h2>What will be our role when the faculty takes the helm?<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;ve just returned from a retreat with my colleagues from other schools, along with Fredrik Oldsj\u00f6 and \u00c5sa Gustafson from the Management Office. The agenda focused on the University Administration\u2019s role as KTH establish school boards. KTH has become an institution with distinct line management, which has led to a perception of diminished academic citizenship. Some have felt that decisions lacked broad consensus. As someone working within administrative support, I perhaps haven&#8217;t fully seen and experienced the changes that have occurred over time; one simply becomes a bit accustomed to the surroundings. But now it&#8217;s time to establish school boards, one for each school.<\/p>\n<p>The question during the retreat was: How can we, within the support functions, meet the expectations of the new school boards? How can we provide relevant support? Can all school boards expect uniform support? And: How could this support be shaped?<\/p>\n<p>I recall my first years at KTH when the head of Indek said: &#8220;Carlsson! You must distinguish between content and form!&#8221; Every now and then, I think about this, even though it&#8217;s probably been 30 years since then. Like now during the retreat: it struck me that we work with content daily in various contexts and organizational levels. It&#8217;s the form in which we manage the daily tasks within administrative support that will need a new form. We at the schools don&#8217;t have the tradition of working as administratively as those in the formerly GVS (now \u201dSAK\u201d). We don&#8217;t use terms like preparation, preparation meetings, minutes (instead of notes); that documents should be provided to the committee at least one week before the meeting, etc. This doesn&#8217;t mean we lack an understanding of the situation; we just have a different approach.<\/p>\n<p>We concluded that we don&#8217;t need more resources for the new way of working; it&#8217;s more about packaging existing missions and tasks in a consistent manner at the schools. We also discussed which matters will fall within the line organization and which matters we think will be handled by the school board. It wasn&#8217;t easy to sort this out. But we made a valiant effort and made progress together as we tried to grasp what this change means for us within University Administration. We don&#8217;t have the answer to this yet, but we will do our best to meet the expectations that a school board has of us. Naturally, we must collectively discuss these expectations when all school boards are in place in the new year.<\/p>\n<p>One thing we did ascertain, however; a school leader who sees their school board as an asset will receive incredible support in all the crucial matters where they often find themselves alone in decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>\/Christina, Head of the Administration at the ITM School<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In English further down.
