Inom verksamhetsst\u00f6det \u00e4r det ordet som anv\u00e4nds mest och dagligen, ja det har n\u00e4stan blivit som en slogan. S\u00e5 vad \u00e4r nu verksamhetsn\u00e4ra?<\/p>\n<p>Under ett par \u00e5rs tid har man arbetat med ramarna f\u00f6r verksamhetsst\u00f6det. Sj\u00e4lvfallet m\u00e5ste dessa finnas f\u00f6r att vi inom st\u00f6det ska kunna bli effektiva, veta vem som ansvarar f\u00f6r vad och hur processerna ser ut. Men formen \u00e4r ju inget vi ska beh\u00f6va t\u00e4nka s\u00e5 mycket p\u00e5, den ska bara finnas d\u00e4r s\u00e5 att vi alla har samma karta. Det \u00e4r som att baka en sockerkaka, inte bryr vi oss om bakformen, vi vill \u00e5t det som befinner sig i formen.<\/p>\n<p>Verksamhetsn\u00e4ra, vem \u00e4r det vi ska vara n\u00e4ra? Om alla ska befinna sig n\u00e4ra i alla fr\u00e5gor kan det nog ocks\u00e5 bidra till att det blir r\u00f6rigt, alla springer p\u00e5 samma boll, vi dubbelarbetar. F\u00f6r oss som jobbar p\u00e5 skolor \u00e4r det inget nytt att vara verksamhetsn\u00e4ra, vi har en st\u00e4ndig dialog med k\u00e4rnverksamheten. Men vi beh\u00f6ver se till att alla inom st\u00f6dverksamheten har en gemensam syn p\u00e5 vad det inneb\u00e4r f\u00f6r att undvika stora glapp mellan sakomr\u00e5dena (f\u00f6re detta GVS) och skolkanslierna. \u00c4ven f\u00f6r detta m\u00e5ste det finnas en form.<\/p>\n<p>Ordet \u201dn\u00e4ra\u201d har nog olika betydelse beroende p\u00e5 vem man fr\u00e5gar. Ett av mina barnbarn s\u00e4ger sig ha v\u00e4nner i New York. Jag kontrar med \u201dmen du har ju aldrig varit d\u00e4r!\u201d. Barnbarnet: \u201dNej, du har inte tagit mig dit! Men jag kan ha v\u00e4nner d\u00e4r \u00e4nd\u00e5.\u201d Hon tittar p\u00e5 mig med en \u00f6verseende blick\u2026 och jag vill inte riktigt veta vad hon t\u00e4nker (f\u00f6rmodligen: \u201dhon h\u00e4nger inte med\u201d). Det sl\u00e5r mig d\u00e5 att jag hade brevv\u00e4nner n\u00e4r jag var i den \u00e5ldern, personer jag inte heller hade tr\u00e4ffat, men \u00e4nd\u00e5 ans\u00e5g vara v\u00e4nner i n\u00e5gon bem\u00e4rkelse, dock p\u00e5 avst\u00e5nd. S\u00e5 n\u00e4ra beh\u00f6ver inte betyda fysiskt n\u00e4ra.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 nu tillbaka till verksamhetsn\u00e4ra. Det f\u00e5r inte bli en hierarkisk fr\u00e5ga d\u00e4r alla inom VS ska g\u00e5 direkt p\u00e5 skolchef, prefekt, enhetschefer etc f\u00f6r att bli verksamhetsn\u00e4ra. Det lyfter inte bort administration fr\u00e5n k\u00e4rnverksamheten, tv\u00e4rt om. Vi kan inte runda skolkanslierna som \u00e4r den inr\u00e4ttning som g\u00f6r att vi befinner oss innanf\u00f6r ramen, och som proaktivt arbetar med de fr\u00e5gor som g\u00f6r att vi \u00e4r verksamhetsn\u00e4ra. Om det blir f\u00f6r m\u00e5nga som uppvaktar skolchefen utan att se till att det finns en dialog mellan sak-omr\u00e5det och skolkanslierna s\u00e5 kommer v\u00e5ra skolchefer, prefekter, enhetschefer etc att f\u00e5 allt mer administrativt arbete.<\/p>\n<p>Vi m\u00e5ste se till att vi inom verksamhetsst\u00f6det skapar r\u00e4tt f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar f\u00f6r samtliga niv\u00e5er. F\u00f6r det f\u00e5r inte bli en social hierarki, som skapas utifr\u00e5n maktf\u00f6rh\u00e5llandet till kunskap om k\u00e4rnverksamheten d\u00e4r kunskap kan ge h\u00f6gre social status.<\/p>\n<p>L\u00e5t oss inte gl\u00f6mma bort att vi alla ska vara verksamhetsn\u00e4ra, men \u00e4ven f\u00f6r detta m\u00e5ste det finnas en form, en karta som vi ritat tillsammans.<\/p>\n<p>\/Christina Carlsson, Kanslichef ITM-skolan<\/p>\n<h2>We need a frame for our new slogan<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cClose to operations\u201d (verksamhetsn\u00e4ra). Within the University administration (UA), these are the words that are used most frequently at the moment, indeed it has almost become a slogan. So what is \u201cclose to operations\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>For a couple of years, work has been done on the framework for University administration. Of course, these frames must exist so that the support can be effective, know who is responsible for what, and what the processes look like. But, the form is not something we should have to think about on a daily basis, it should just be there so that we all agree on the map. It&#8217;s like baking a sponge cake, we don&#8217;t care about the baking pan, we want what&#8217;s <em>in<\/em> the baking pan.<\/p>\n<p>Close to operations \u2013 then who should we be close to? If everyone has to be close in all matters, it can probably also contribute to it being messy, duplicate efforts, we double work. For those of us who work for our schools, being close to operations is nothing new, we have a constant dialog with the core business. But we need to make sure that everyone in the support services (UA) has a common understanding of what that means, in order to avoid big gaps between the subject areas (HR; Economy etc) and the school offices. Here, we need to find a framework too.<\/p>\n<p>The word &#8220;close&#8221; probably has different meanings depending on who you ask. One of my grandchildren claims to have friends in New York. I say: &#8220;but you&#8217;ve never been to New York!&#8221;. The granddaughter: &#8220;No, cuz you haven&#8217;t taken me there! But I might have friends there anyway.&#8221; She looks at me with a look of indulgence&#8230; and I don&#8217;t really want to know what she&#8217;s thinking (probably: &#8220;she doesn&#8217;t get it&#8221;). Then, it strikes me that I had pen pals when I was that age, people I hadn&#8217;t met either, but still considered friends in some sense, albeit at a distance. So close does not necessarily mean physically close.<\/p>\n<p>So now back to business proximity. This must not become a hierarchical issue where everyone in the UA should address to head of school, head of department, head of unit, etc. directly in order to become close to operations. It does not take administration away from the core business, on the contrary. We cannot bypass the school&#8217;s offices, which are the ones that keeps us within the framework, and which proactively works on the issues that make us operational. If there are too many people courting the school management without ensuring that there is a dialog between the subject area and the school offices, the core business will only get more and more administrative work.<\/p>\n<p>We must make sure that we create the right conditions for all levels in the UA. It must not become a social hierarchy, created based on the power relationship to knowledge of the core business where knowledge can give higher social status.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s not forget that we should all be close to operations, but even for this there must be a frame, a map that we draw together.<\/p>\n<p>\/Christina Carlsson,\u00a0Head of ITM School&#8217;s Office<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In English further down.
