Och ja, snart \u00e4r det sommar!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"328\" data-end=\"1490\">Jag kan med gl\u00e4dje meddela att ITM:s anst\u00e4llningsutskott (AU) nu \u00e4r ig\u00e5ng. AU samlas varannan vecka, och mellan dessa m\u00f6ten tr\u00e4ffas vice ordf\u00f6rande Anne-Kathrin Peters, handl\u00e4ggare Sara Andersson och jag. Den h\u00e4r terminen har det varit ganska lugnt n\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller rekrytering av nya l\u00e4rare, men f\u00f6rra veckan f\u00e4rdigst\u00e4llde AU anst\u00e4llningsprofilen f\u00f6r en bitr\u00e4dande lektorstj\u00e4nst vid IPU. Det h\u00e4r dokumentet \u00e4r centralt f\u00f6r att fastst\u00e4lla inriktning och kvalifikationer f\u00f6r rekryteringen, och \u00e4r det verktyg som anv\u00e4nds f\u00f6r att bed\u00f6ma kandidater. Att hantera dokumentet p\u00e5 skolniv\u00e5 ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r centralt, som tidigare, har inneburit flera f\u00f6rdelar. En viktig f\u00f6rdel handlar om spr\u00e5k. Tidigare var det endast den svenska versionen som godk\u00e4ndes \u2013 n\u00e5got m\u00e4rkligt, eftersom de flesta s\u00f6kande inte l\u00e4ser den. Genom att arbeta med den engelska versionen kunde vi anv\u00e4nda verktyg som <a href=\"https:\/\/gender-decoder.katmatfield.com\/\"><em data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1226\">Gender Decoder<\/em><\/a> f\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla en attraktiv och inkluderande beskrivning. (Tack till prefekt Magnus Wiktorsson som tog fram utkastet med hj\u00e4lp av det h\u00e4r verktyget!) Dessutom hade en medlem i AU god kunskap om \u00e4mnesomr\u00e5det, vilket hj\u00e4lpte oss att skapa en tr\u00e4ffs\u00e4ker profil.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1492\" data-end=\"2128\">En annan viktig leverans var inl\u00e4mningen av fakultetsutvecklingsplaner. S\u00e5dana planer tas fram \u00e5rligen och fastst\u00e4lls p\u00e5 institutions- och skolniv\u00e5. Nytt f\u00f6r 2025 \u00e4r att Fakultetsn\u00e4mnden (FN) nu ocks\u00e5 ger v\u00e4gledning och inspel i processen. Fram\u00f6ver kommer institutionerna att h\u00e4nvisa till sina etablerade fakultetsplaner n\u00e4r de l\u00e4mnar in f\u00f6rslag om att \u00f6ppna nya l\u00e4rartj\u00e4nster. F\u00f6rra veckan tr\u00e4ffade ITM:s ledningsgrupp KTH:s rektor, dekan och prodekan f\u00f6r att diskutera ITM:s fakultetsutvecklingsplan. KTH:s ledning visade god insikt i v\u00e5r fakultetsstruktur \u2013 en positiv utg\u00e5ngspunkt f\u00f6r diskussioner om framg\u00e5ngar och utmaningar.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1492\" data-end=\"2128\">\/Andrew Martin, Ansvarig f\u00f6r fakultetsf\u00f6rnyelse (FFA) p\u00e5 ITM-skolan<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"editor-h2\">\u2018Between bird-cherry and lilac\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The above phrase is unique in Swedish, capturing the beauty of late spring in our northern latitudes but also hinting at warm, outdoor activities like end-of-school and graduation celebrations. And yes, it will soon be summer!<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m happy to report that ITM\u2019s employment committee (AU) is up and running. AU gathers every other week while vice-chair Anne-Kathrin Peters, officer Sara Andersson and I meet in between. This semester has been a bit quiet in terms of new faculty recruitment, but last week AU finalized the employment profile for an assistant professor position at IPU. This document is central in determining the scope and qualifications of the recruitment, and is the lens through which candidates are judged. Handling this document at school level, rather than centrally as before, led to a number of advantages. One major benefit had to do with language. Previously only the Swedish version was considered for approval. A bit strange since most applicants don\u2019t read this version. By working with the English version, tools such as the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/gender-decoder.katmatfield.com\/\">Gender Decoder <\/a><\/em>could be used for ensuring an attractive and inclusive description. (Shout-out to department head Magnus Wiktorsson for preparing the draft with this tool!) Additionally one member of AU had good knowledge of the position\u2019s subject field, allowing us to produce an accurate profile.<\/p>\n<p>Another noteworthy event was the submission of faculty development plans. Such plans are produced annually and are established at department and school levels. New for 2025 is the involvement of the Faculty Board (FN) in providing insight and guidance. Going forward departments will refer to established faculty plans when presenting requests for opening new faculty positions. Last week ITM\u2019s management group met with KTH president, dean, and vice dean of faculty to discuss ITM\u2019s faculty development plan.
