De flesta l\u00e4rare \u00e4r upptagna med att planera och r\u00e4tta tentor. Det g\u00e4ller \u00e4ven mig, som har varit ansvarig f\u00f6r tv\u00e5 kurser med fokus p\u00e5 cirkul\u00e4ra material, en p\u00e5 andra \u00e5ret i ett H\u00f6gskoleingenj\u00f6rsprogram (HING) och en valfri masterkurs.<\/p>\n<p>Jag vill dela med mig av n\u00e5gra reflektioner om HING-kursen. Eftersom det var f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen jag undervisade i den var det ocks\u00e5 en chans att prova nya s\u00e4tt att examinera studenterna. Innan kursen b\u00f6rjade ins\u00e5g jag att jag beh\u00f6vde st\u00f6d och hade turen att f\u00e5 <strong>Gabriel Montgomery<\/strong> som assistent. Han bidrog inte bara med administrationshj\u00e4lp utan ocks\u00e5 genom att se till att vi byggde vidare p\u00e5 studenternas tidigare kunskaper. Jag har aldrig sett en s\u00e5 effektiv anv\u00e4ndning av verktyg och kunskaps\u00f6verf\u00f6ring mellan kurser. Till exempel fungerade projektarbetet effektivt tack vare studenternas tidigare utbildning i projektledning, tidsloggning och planering.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kth.se\/blogs\/itm-management\/files\/2025\/10\/Studenter-Hallstahammar_300px.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1417\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kth.se\/blogs\/itm-management\/files\/2025\/10\/Studenter-Hallstahammar_300px.jpg\" alt=\"Four students at a poster\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kth.se\/blogs\/itm-management\/files\/2025\/10\/Studenter-Hallstahammar_300px.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.kth.se\/blogs\/itm-management\/files\/2025\/10\/Studenter-Hallstahammar_300px-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Kursen avslutades med en \u201dflipped-location\u201d-tentamen \u2013 en postersession hos v\u00e5r strategiska partner<strong> Alleima Kanthal<\/strong> i Hallstahammar. Fyra KTH-l\u00e4rare och 15 f\u00f6retagsrepresentanter bed\u00f6mde studenterna, som imponerade p\u00e5 alla med sin f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga att svara p\u00e5 fr\u00e5gor och ta emot feedback. Studenterna uppskattade sj\u00e4lva att kunna presentera sina id\u00e9er i en realistisk milj\u00f6 och f\u00e5 synpunkter fr\u00e5n Alleimas erfarna ingenj\u00f6rer.<\/p>\n<p>Studenterna examinerades ocks\u00e5 p\u00e5 de f\u00f6rel\u00e4sningar som har h\u00e5llits i klassen. H\u00e4r samarbetade vi med <strong>Framtidens utbildning<\/strong> f\u00f6r att l\u00e5na surfplattor och assistenter. Grupper p\u00e5 upp till 12 studenter gjorde ett 50-minuters digitalt prov med automatiskt r\u00e4ttade fr\u00e5gor och en \u00f6ppen fr\u00e5ga som r\u00e4ttades manuellt.<\/p>\n<p>Sammantaget l\u00e4rde jag mig mycket av dessa pedagogiska metoder. Det starka st\u00f6det fr\u00e5n <strong>Gabriel<\/strong>, assistenterna och diskussionerna med kollegor som <strong>Mikael Ersson<\/strong> bidrog verkligen till att stimulera studenternas l\u00e4rande.<\/p>\n<p>ITM:s ekonomi har f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrats avsev\u00e4rt tack vare tv\u00e5 \u00e5rs h\u00e5rt arbete inom alla avdelningar. Nu \u00e4r det dags att blicka fram\u00e5t och planera f\u00f6r fortsatt positiv utveckling. <strong>Fredrik Asplund<\/strong> leder en grupp med representanter fr\u00e5n alla institutioner f\u00f6r att reformera den framtida utbildningen, med h\u00e4nsyn till faktorer som programmens popularitet, examensfrekvens, l\u00e4rarkompetens och nya samh\u00e4llsbehov. Deras id\u00e9er kommer att presenteras f\u00f6re sommaren 2026.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e5 forskningssidan genomf\u00f6r <strong>professor emeritus Ulf Sandstr\u00f6m<\/strong> en djupg\u00e5ende analys f\u00f6r att identifiera de mest framg\u00e5ngsrika vetenskapliga resultaten och samarbetena inom varje avdelning, samt m\u00f6jligheter till framtida samarbeten inom ITM. Som jag n\u00e4mnde i min blogg i juni planterade jag yacon, en v\u00e4xt som kommer fr\u00e5n Peru. Under den varma sommaren ins\u00e5g jag att dessa v\u00e4xter verkligen beh\u00f6ver mycket vatten och kr\u00e4ver omsorg. I helgen sk\u00f6rdade jag gr\u00f6dorna, som ni kan se nedan. Nu ska jag l\u00e5ta dem st\u00e5 inne i huset i ett par veckor tills de blir s\u00f6tare, enligt rekommendationer fr\u00e5n experter p\u00e5 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odlarbyran.se\/uncategorized\/blommor-och-skord\">Odlarhyllan<\/a>. S\u00e5ledes blev mitt sommarf\u00f6rs\u00f6k lyckat!<\/p>\n<p>\/P\u00e4r J\u00f6nsson, Skolchef vid ITM<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"editor-h2\">The students today and tomorrow are the key to ITM:s future success!<\/h2>\n<p>We are at the end of the first lecturing period. Most teachers are busy organizing and correcting exams. The same is true for me, who has been responsible for two courses focusing on circular materials, namely a course in the second year of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering programme (HING) and an elective master\u2019s course.<\/p>\n<p>I want to share some reflections on the HING course \u2014 my first time teaching it, and a chance to try new ways of examining students. Before the course began, I realized I needed support and was lucky to bring in <strong>Gabriel Montgomery<\/strong> as an assistant. He contributed not only with administration but also by ensuring we built on the students\u2019 prior knowledge. I\u2019ve never seen such effective use of tools and knowledge transfer between courses. For example, the project work ran efficiently thanks to their previous training in project management, time logging, and planning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kth.se\/blogs\/itm-management\/files\/2025\/10\/Studenter-Hallstahammar_300px.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1417\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kth.se\/blogs\/itm-management\/files\/2025\/10\/Studenter-Hallstahammar_300px.jpg\" alt=\"Four students at a poster\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kth.se\/blogs\/itm-management\/files\/2025\/10\/Studenter-Hallstahammar_300px.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.kth.se\/blogs\/itm-management\/files\/2025\/10\/Studenter-Hallstahammar_300px-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The course ended with a \u201cflipped-location\u201d examination \u2014 a poster session at our strategic partner <strong>Alleima Kanthal<\/strong> in Hallstahammar. Four KTH teachers and 15 company representatives assessed the students, who impressed everyone with their ability to respond to questions and feedback. The students themselves appreciated pitching their ideas in a realistic setting and getting feedback from experienced Alleima engineers.<\/p>\n<p>The students were also examined with respect to the lectures given in the class. Here, we collaborated with <strong>Framtidens utbildning<\/strong> to borrow tablets and assistants. Groups of up to 12 students took a 50-minute digital exam with automatically graded questions and one open response graded manually.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, I learned a lot from these pedagogical approaches. The strong support from <strong>Gabriel<\/strong>, the assistants, and discussions with colleagues such as <strong>Mikael Ersson<\/strong> really helped stimulate the students\u2019 learning.<\/p>\n<p>The ITM economy has improved significantly thanks to two years of hard work across the departments. Now it\u2019s time to look ahead and plan for continued positive development. <strong>Fredrik Asplund<\/strong> is leading a group with representatives from all departments to reform future education, considering factors such as programme popularity, graduation rates, teacher competence, and emerging societal needs. Their ideas will be presented before summer 2026.<\/p>\n<p>On the research side, <strong>Professor Emeritus Ulf Sandstr\u00f6m<\/strong> is conducting an in-depth analysis to identify the most successful scientific achievements and collaborations within each department, as well as opportunities for future cooperation across ITM. I used three large containers and put the plants outside. During the hot summer, I realized that these plants really need a lot of water so they needed care. This weekend I harvested the crop, as you can see below.\u00a0 \u00a0Now I will let them sit inside the house for a couple of weeks until they become sweeter, as recommended by experts on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odlarbyran.se\/uncategorized\/blommor-och-skord\">Odlarhyllan<\/a>. \u00a0Thus, my summer experiment was successful!<\/p>\n<p>\/P\u00e4r J\u00f6nsson,\u00a0Head of the ITM School<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In English further down.
