Jag vet att alla programansvariga jobbat h\u00e5rt med detta, s\u00e5 f\u00f6rhoppningsvis f\u00e5r ni lite tid till \u00e5terh\u00e4mtning innan programanalyserna startar p\u00e5 allvar. F\u00f6r egen del s\u00e5 forts\u00e4tter jag mitt deltagande i genomlysningen av ITM:s utbildningsportf\u00f6lj, och genomlysningen p\u00e5 KTH-niv\u00e5 av alla utbildningsprogram som snart startar upp igen efter ett kort uppeh\u00e5ll.<\/p>\n<p>Inget \u00e4r s\u00e5 klart satt i sten, men KTH siktar p\u00e5 en ytterligare minskning av antalet hel\u00e5rsstudenter till 2027 f\u00f6r att sedan bibeh\u00e5lla antalet under 2028. (I detta ing\u00e5r en \u00f6kning av ers\u00e4ttningen per hel\u00e5rsstudent, och antalet kan s\u00e5 klart \u00e4ven komma att p\u00e5verkas av f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar av prestationsgraden, men i stort s\u00e5 \u00e4r det planen.) Vi st\u00e5r allts\u00e5 inf\u00f6r ytterligare en tid av turbulens, men med en mer balanserad situation i sikte.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6r egen del s\u00e5 kommer ITM beh\u00f6va fundera p\u00e5 att utveckla och skapa nya mastersprogram d\u00e5 civilingenj\u00f6rsprogrammen minskar under de n\u00e4rmsta \u00e5ren, i linje med rektors reformagenda. Vi kommer arbeta p\u00e5 det under \u00e5ret, men jag vet ocks\u00e5 att just detta diskuteras p\u00e5 flera st\u00e4llen runt om p\u00e5 ITM. Jag hoppas d\u00e4rf\u00f6r att alla ni som har id\u00e9er lyfter dem p\u00e5 m\u00f6ten, med era medarbetare och prefekter. Ska ett nytt program startas under h\u00f6stterminen 2028 s\u00e5 beh\u00f6ver det beslutas om under v\u00e5ren 2027, s\u00e5 bra id\u00e9er beh\u00f6ver komma fram tidigt.<\/p>\n<p>Men, f\u00f6r att avsluta p\u00e5 ett mindre uppfodrande s\u00e4tt, s\u00e5 vill jag tacka f\u00f6r alla tankar och id\u00e9er som m\u00e5nga av er lyft ang\u00e5ende utbildningsutbudet n\u00e4r vi setts \u2013 ofta i f\u00f6rbifarten. Det kommer ta tid, antagligen \u00e5r, att \u00e4ndra p\u00e5 v\u00e5ra utbildningars form och inneh\u00e5ll, och ofta h\u00e4nder inte mycket f\u00f6rr\u00e4n m\u00e5nga saker faller p\u00e5 plats och g\u00f6r en f\u00f6r\u00e4ndring m\u00f6jlig. S\u00e5 det k\u00e4nns bra att s\u00e5 m\u00e5nga av er \u00e4nd\u00e5 vill str\u00e4va fram\u00e5t och f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra det vi har.<\/p>\n<p>\/Fredrik Asplund, Grundutbildningsansvarig p\u00e5 ITM-skolan<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"editor-h2\">Together, we drive our education forward<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>The proposed target numbers for the Master of Science in Engineering programmes have now been submitted, and the suggested admission figures for the master\u2019s programmes are also close to being finalised. I know that all programme directors have worked hard on this, so I hope you will get a moment to recharge before the programme analyses begin. As for myself, I continue to take part in the review of ITM\u2019s educational portfolio, as well as the KTH-wide review of all study programmes, which will soon resume after a short pause.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing is, of course, set in stone, but KTH is aiming for a further reduction in the number of full-time equivalent students by 2027, and then to maintain that level during 2028. (This includes an increase in funding per full-time equivalent student, and the numbers may naturally be affected by changes in performance rates, but overall this is the plan.) We are therefore facing another period of turbulence, but with a more balanced situation ahead.<\/p>\n<p>For ITM specifically, we will need to start considering the development and creation of new master\u2019s programmes, as the Master of Science in Engineering programmes will decrease over the coming years, in line with the President\u2019s reform agenda. We will be working on this during the year, but I also know that these discussions are already taking place in several parts of ITM. I therefore hope that those of you who have ideas bring them forward during meetings, with colleagues and with heads of department. If a new programme is to be launched in the autumn semester of 2028, a decision will need to be made in spring 2027, so strong ideas must surface early.<\/p>\n<p>But to end on a less demanding note, I want to thank you for all the thoughts and suggestions many of you have shared regarding our educational offerings \u2013 often in passing. It will take time, probably years, to make changes to the structure and content of our programmes, and often not much happens until many pieces fall into place and make change possible.
