Det \u00e4r sol och v\u00e4rme, f\u00e5gels\u00e5ng, pollenallergi, aprilv\u00e4der och det s\u00e4kraste v\u00e5rtecknet av dem alla \u2013 ans\u00f6kningsstatistik! I \u00e5r kan jag med gl\u00e4dje konstatera att det ser riktigt bra ut f\u00f6r l\u00e4rarutbildningarna. Till Civilingenj\u00f6r och l\u00e4rare \u00e4r det totalt 30% fler s\u00f6kande j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med 2025 och \u00e4ven antalet f\u00f6rstahandss\u00f6kande har \u00f6kat med 15%.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6r den Kompletterande pedagogiska utbildning som fram till nu har haft antagning p\u00e5 sommaren har antalet f\u00f6rstahandss\u00f6kande \u00f6kat med hela 59% till h\u00f6sten 2026 j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med sommaren 2025. Det \u00e4r mycket gl\u00e4djande att studenterna fortfarande \u00e4r intresserade av utbildningen n\u00e4r den startar p\u00e5 h\u00f6sten. H\u00f6ststarten har inf\u00f6rts f\u00f6r att underl\u00e4tta f\u00f6r saml\u00e4sning mellan v\u00e5ra tv\u00e5 KPU program. Samtidigt har vi strukturerat om utbildningen f\u00f6r att skapa en b\u00e4ttre studiesituation f\u00f6r studenterna med f\u00e4rre kurser som g\u00e5r parallellt. F\u00f6rhoppningsvis ska detta leda till \u00f6kad genomstr\u00f6mning.<\/p>\n<p>Jag tycker alltid att det \u00e4r lite extra roligt att v\u00e4lkomna dessa studenter till utbildningen eftersom de g\u00f6r samma resa som jag sj\u00e4lv har gjort. M\u00e5nga av studenterna som s\u00f6ker sig till KTH n\u00e4r det \u00e4r dags att byta bana i arbetslivet genom att g\u00e5 KPU har tidigare l\u00e4st en ingenj\u00f6rsutbildning p\u00e5 KTH. N\u00e5gra av dem helt nyligen, men m\u00e5nga har l\u00e4st sin ingenj\u00f6rsutbildning f\u00f6r m\u00e5nga \u00e5r sedan. Att s\u00e5 m\u00e5nga \u00e4nd\u00e5 v\u00e4ljer att \u00e5terv\u00e4nda till KTH n\u00e4r de st\u00e5r inf\u00f6r en nystart i karri\u00e4ren ser jag som ett mycket gott betyg.<\/p>\n<p>\/Sandra Tibbelin, Vice grundutbildningsansvarig p\u00e5 ITM<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"editor-h2\">Growing interest in teacher training programmes<\/h2>\n<p>Spring is finally here \u2013 a time for fresh starts in nature. Sunshine and warmer days, birdsong, pollen allergies, unpredictable April weather, and the most reliable sign of spring of them all: application statistics! This year, I\u2019m delighted to say that things are looking very promising for our teacher training programmes. Applications to the <em>Master of Science in Engineering and Teaching<\/em> programme are up by a total of 30% compared with 2025, and the number of first-choice applicants has increased by 15%.<\/p>\n<p>For the <em>Complementary Pedagogical Education<\/em> (KPU), which until now has had its main intake in the summer, the number of first-choice applicants has risen by an impressive 59% for autumn 2026 compared with summer 2025. It\u2019s incredibly encouraging to see that students remain keen to apply when the programme starts in the autumn. The autumn start has been introduced to make it easier to run joint courses across our two KPU programmes. At the same time, we have restructured the programme to create a better study environment for students, with fewer courses running in parallel. Hopefully, this will lead to improved completion rates.<\/p>\n<p>I always find it especially rewarding to welcome these students, as they are making the same journey that I once did myself. Many of those who apply to KTH to change direction in their working lives by undertaking a KPU have previously studied engineering at KTH. Some have done so quite recently, while others completed their engineering degrees many years ago.
