P\u00e4r J\u00f6nssons undervisning har ett annat uppl\u00e4gg \u00e4n f\u00f6re pandemin, han har fler hybridm\u00f6ten och krisen i Ukraina \u00e4r allt annat \u00e4n normal. Men v\u00e5ren kommer varje \u00e5r och de f\u00f6rsta blommorna har just dykt upp i hans tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rd. Naturen kan man lita p\u00e5.<\/div>\n<p>K\u00e4ra kollegor,<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e5 KTH \u00e5terg\u00e5r arbets- och studentlivet s\u00e5 sakteliga till det vanliga efter en l\u00e5ng period av distansering. Nu h\u00e5lls de flesta m\u00f6tena i konferensrum ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r Zoomrum. Men en stor skillnad j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med innan pandemin \u00e4r att folk jobbar hemifr\u00e5n om de \u00e4r det minsta sjuka f\u00f6r att undvika att smitta sina kollegor. D\u00e4rf\u00f6r kommer hybridm\u00f6ten fortsatt vara en del av v\u00e5rt arbetss\u00e4tt, trots att de flesta m\u00f6tesdeltagarna antagligen deltar p\u00e5 plats.<\/p>\n<p>Som l\u00e4rare k\u00e4nner jag stor l\u00e4ttnad \u00f6ver att f\u00e5 \u00e5terg\u00e5 till klassrummen. I mitt fall kan det bero p\u00e5 att jag inte fullt ut kan dra nytta av de digitala verktygen! Hur som helst \u00e4r det otroligt kul att vara tillbaks i klassrummen igen efter m\u00e5nader av Zoom-undervisning. Jag tycker det \u00e4r s\u00e5 mycket l\u00e4ttare att interagera med studenterna, uppfatta deras ansiktsuttryck och bed\u00f6ma om de f\u00f6rst\u00e5r eller inte. Samtidigt m\u00e5ste jag medge att digital undervisning har hj\u00e4lpt mig att utveckla min undervisningsstil \u00e4ven i klassrummet.<\/p>\n<p>Mina lektioner kan nu se ut s\u00e5 h\u00e4r: Jag inleder med att presentera ett \u00e4mne. Efter pausen delar jag ut sm\u00e5 uppgifter som studenterna f\u00e5r arbeta med i grupper. D\u00e4refter f\u00e5r de presentera sina tankar och vi diskuterar svaren tillsammans. P\u00e5 s\u00e5 s\u00e4tt blir det l\u00e4ttare f\u00f6r mig att se om de har f\u00f6rst\u00e5tt koncepten samtidigt som studenterna kan l\u00e4ra av varandra. Pl\u00f6tsligt upplever jag en energi i klassrummet som jag inte har lyckats \u00e5stadkomma i Zoom!<\/p>\n<p>Jag vill ocks\u00e5 passa p\u00e5 att informera om n\u00e5gra saker som h\u00e4nder de kommande veckorna:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alla anst\u00e4llda ska ha medarbetarsamtal med sin chef, d\u00e4r ni diskuterar er arbetssituation. ITM:s verksamhetsst\u00f6d har satt samman information om detta f\u00f6r alla ledare genom Ledarforum.<\/li>\n<li>Arbetsmilj\u00f6ronder kommer att utf\u00f6ras p\u00e5 samtliga institutioner och i verksamhetsst\u00f6det och leds av externa experter. Dessa ronder \u00e4r viktiga delar i v\u00e5rt systematiska arbetsmilj\u00f6arbete. Utifr\u00e5n inspektionerna kommer vi f\u00e5 rekommendationer och n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndiga \u00e5tg\u00e4rder listade. D\u00e4refter kommer varje institution s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla att \u00e5tg\u00e4rderna vidtas innan sommarsemestrarna.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>S\u00e5 h\u00e4r mot slutet av bloggen vill jag \u00e5terkomma till det h\u00e4r med \u201csom vanligt\u201d och jag v\u00e5gar p\u00e5st\u00e5 att mycket i v\u00e4rlden inte \u00e4r som det brukar. \u00a0Det \u00e4r sannt att vi n\u00e4rmar oss slutet av corona-krisen, men ist\u00e4llet har en ny kris uppst\u00e5tt i Ukraina. KTH h\u00e5ller er uppdaterade om v\u00e4rldsl\u00e4get och hur det kan p\u00e5verka v\u00e5rt arbete.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"block link\" lang=\"sv-SE\" href=\"https:\/\/intra.kth.se\/campus\/sakerhet\/kris\/ukraina\" data-cid=\"1.1148753\">Information med anledning av invasionen av Ukraina<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Slutligen vill jag skicka med ett grattis till er som hade sportlov f\u00f6rra veckan. Solen sken st\u00f6rre delen av veckan. Jag k\u00e4nner en s\u00e5dan gl\u00e4dje n\u00e4r kinderna f\u00e5r lite v\u00e4rme efter veckor av kyla och jag inser att vi g\u00e5r mot varmare tider. Som ett bevis p\u00e5 att ljusare tider st\u00e5r f\u00f6r d\u00f6rren d\u00f6k de f\u00f6rsta blommarna upp i tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden h\u00e4r om veckan. Kanske \u00e4r v\u00e5ren trots allt n\u00e4rmare \u00e4n vi tror&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\/P\u00e4r J\u00f6nsson, ITM:s skolchef<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Back to \u201cnormal\u201d or maybe not?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"lead lead-paragraph\">What is normal and not? P\u00e4r J\u00f6nsson\u2019s teaching has a different set-up than before the pandemic, he has more hybrid meetings, and the crisis in Ukraine is everything but normal. But, the spring arrives like every year, and the first flowers appear in his garden. You can trust the rhythm of nature.<\/div>\n<p>Dear colleagues,<\/p>\n<p>At KTH, we are experiencing a time where we are coming back to a \u201cnormal\u201d situation after having a large part of the employees and students working and studying from home. Today, meetings are held as usual, in conference rooms instead of in Zoom rooms. However, one difference compared to before the pandemic is that nowadays, everyone works from home when they are slightly ill instead of coming to KTH to avoid infecting others. Thereby, the hybrid meetings will continue to be part of our working life, but the majority will participate on-site at KTH.<\/p>\n<p>As a teacher, I feel strongly relieved to return to the classroom. In my case, it might be because I have not learned how to master digital opportunities in a good way! Anyway, it was really fun to be back in the classroom again after many months of Zoom teaching. It is so much easier to interact with the students, see their facial expressions and judge whether they understand or not. However, digital education has helped me change my teaching style in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>My lectures can look like this: I start to present a subject. After the break, I hand out a small task that students work with in small groups. Then, they present their thoughts, and we discuss their answers. In this way, it is easier for me to see if they understood the concepts, and they also learn from each other. Suddenly, I experience energy in the classroom which I had not managed to create during the Zoom teaching!<\/p>\n<p>I also wish to inform you about some activities that will take place in the coming weeks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All employees should have a mandatory talk with their managers (medarbetarsamtal), where their working situation should be discussed and noted. The ITM administration has compiled some information material that has been shared with all ITM leaders within \u201cLedarforum\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Health and safety inspections are carried out at each department, led by external experts. They are essential parts of our systematic safety work. Based on the results of these inspections, we will get recommendations and demands with respect to necessary improvements. Then, each department will make sure that the issues are resolved before the summer vacation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the end of this blog, I must point out that things are not \u201dnormal\u201d, as I said initially. It is true that we are at the end of a Corona crisis, but instead, a new crisis has emerged in Ukraine. I want to inform you that KTH will update you concerning this crisis and how it will influence our work:<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"block link\" lang=\"sv-SE\" href=\"https:\/\/intra.kth.se\/en\/campus\/sakerhet\/kris\/ukraina\" hreflang=\"en-GB\" data-cid=\"1.1148744\">Information regarding the invasion of Ukraine<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finally, I must say that all of you that had a vacation to enjoy the winter break (sportlov) with your kids last week were very lucky. The sun was shining most of the week. It is such a joy to feel your face warm up again after many weeks of cold weather and to realize that we are approaching warmer times. As evidence that new times are coming, the first flower in my garden appeared this weekend.
