Christmas in the French Alps

Moving to Stockholm has been the first time I’m moving away from home (other than travelling) for an extended period of time. Christmas is usually a time spent relaxing at home, but this year was a little different: I headed to the Alps to have a snowy holiday with my family.

Based in Valloire, France, an adorable village surrounded by snowy peaks, I spent a week skiing, eating cheese fondue and soaking up the sun. It was a perfect way to end 2019 and reset before exam time. Travelling in Europe (more specifically the Schengen Area) is super simple and also quite cheap. Using student pricing and low-cost deals (I suggest subscribing to many low-cost flight companies to get the best deals when they come out!), you can get to many places in under 3 hours of flight and go hiking in Germany, surfing in Portugal or sightseeing in Czech Republic. Here are a couple pictures of my ski trip, hoping it will inspire you to travel around too!

Happy New Year everyone 🙂
