KTH Innovation Preincubation Programme Batch 13 Applications Opens

The opportunities on the KTH campus aside from the formal course lectures are the fascinating things for a student at KTH that contributes to the overall personality development of students. One such opportunity that I was part of for the past 1.5 years was with KTH Innovation in pursuing my interest in the field of entrepreneurship. KTH Innovation offers preincubation programme which has been my first steps towards entrepreneurship. In this blog post, I try to answer most of the questions I had while joining this programme.

  1. What is KTH Innovation Preincubation Programme?
KTH Innovation preincubation programme is a 12-month structured programme that provides the necessary infrastructure to accelerate the development of your project into a startup.
  2. Who can apply for KTH Preincubation Programme?
If you are a KTH student, alumni, researcher or staff with a technology-based idea or research project with business potential, you are welcome to apply to the programme
  3. How developed should the idea be while applying to the programme?
The idea can be in a nascent stage but you are ready to launch the idea to the market in a year or two. During the programme, you will develop your idea towards all dimensions such as business, team, technology, funding and intellectual property.
  4. What is included in the programme?
The programme includes mentorship, office space, weekly batch meetings, an entrepreneurial community that keeps you motivated, legal support, recruitment and networking. You would also have the opportunity to seek funding support up to 250,000 sek from KTH holding. Since there is no cost from participants involved in the programme, the only expectation from the participants is to actively participate in the programme by attending the weekly batch meeting, mentorship meetings and working actively towards your goals. Also, the main motto is “Pay it forward”.
  6. What is the process to apply to the programme?
There are two stages during the application. The first stage is to fill in a short description of your idea, the problem the project is solving and if there are similar idea in the market which does not take more than an hour. Once you pass the first stage, you will be assigned with a business coach who will assist you in filing a more detailed description of your idea.
