Stockholm subway is also known to be the “world’s longest” what?

Almost every subway (tunnelbana as we call) in Stockholm is filled with mesmerizing art and that’s the reason Stockholm subway is considered the “World’s longest art gallery”. Travellers get to experience a unique collection of sculptures, wall paintings, architectures as they move from one station to another. Out of 100 subway stations, 90 stations are filled with artwork that demands and deserves your attention.

Which is one of the most prestigious award ceremony annually hosted in Stockholm?

Every year, the world turns towards Stockholm where the Nobel prize is awarded which is the most prestigious award in the world. The award ceremony is held at the Stockholm concert hall on the 10th of December every year to commemorate the death of Alfred Nobel where Nobel prizes are presented to the Laureates. The award ceremony is followed by a banquet at the city hall where more than 1300 guests and 250 students get to take part in it.

This place is called Kungsträdgården translating to King’s garden. Every Stockholmer and tourists in Stockholm unfailingly visit Kungsträdgården during the spring to capture the cherry trees in full blossom across the two sides of the street. It also has open door cafes and is one of my favourites hang out places in Stockholm. There are regular open-air concerts and events here in summer. In winter you can ice skate in the rink.

This airport in Stockholm is where THS members receive the new batch of KTH students during the reception day?

KTH welcomes its new batch of students every year at the Arlanda international airport. Arlanda is one of the three airports in Stockholm and is the biggest and busiest airport in the city and It is 37kms away from the city centre. During the arrival days, you can see THS members in the KTH booth guiding the incoming students. KTH also organises a free bus service for students from Arlanda to KTH entre during the arrival days.

How many bridges are located in Stockholm?

Stockholm is scattered pieces of land floating on water. It has 14 islands that are connected by 57 bridges. You will find many such lovely bridges that stand on the calm waters of the city. In summer the water bodies are frequented by kayas, cruises, swimmers and small boats. In winter, the frozen ice reflects the beauty of the city.
