Coping with the examination season

We are in the final weeks of the semester which means submitting final assignments before the deadline, preparing for examinations and presenting the thesis project. It is quite natural to feel stressed and overwhelmed in such a time, with a never-ending list of pending work and exams in the corner. It is then important to take the time out to yourself, to break the routine and involve in activities that bring back the mind to a relaxed state. In this blog post, I write about how I am currently coping with examination stress.

Exams in Progress

Exercise and Running

Considering the time we have been indoors during the pandemic, Running has been an occasion where I can be outdoors. It relaxes my mind while also exercising the body and burning a healthy amount of calories for the day. In fact, Running has also been my means of exploring the beautiful neighbourhood around Lappis.

Spending time with friends

Writing a 100-page thesis report deserves little rewards like hanging out with friends. The warm summer is enticing enough to plan barbeques and picnics in nearby parks. I usually look forward to it after a week of working tirelessly. Stockholm has tons of such hangout places and activities that can be explored with your friends.

Sleep

After a “productive” morning session of academic activities, I have started to take power naps every afternoon. It helps me to reboot and continue working till the end of the day. I try to manage at least six hours of sleep at night so that I can focus on my tasks during the day.

Do let me know what are your coping techniques to destress during the examination season. Wishing everyone a great week of studying and good luck with the examinations!!
