Newly Admitted in KTH? What to do in June?

It was in June 2019 when I realised that KTH is finally happening. The months of April and May are usually filled with overwhelming questions on deciding to choose the university and making the necessary arrangements for it, such as paying the fees, applying for a residence permit etc. But now the reality of getting admitted at KTH and moving to Sweden was finally sinking into the mind.

In this blog post, you can find information about the most important activities that to be done in June that will help with your preparation for your journey towards KTH.

Payment of the Tuition Fees

Fee-paying students are required to confirm the admission by paying the tuition fees. The deadline for paying the tuition fees is 11 June 2021. The non-payment of the tuition fees might result in the student losing the seat for the programme.

Residence Permit

It is time to apply for the Residence Permit so that you can receive the decision before the arrival days (02 and 22 August 2021) and reach Stockholm on time for your master’s programme. You can find more details about the required documents and the process to be followed here.

Once you have applied the important thing is to also book the appointment for conducting the biometrics in your nearest Swedish embassy. It is advisable to book it even before you get the decision since the appointments would be in demand during this season.

Flight tickets

It would be recommended to book your flights tickets for the arrival days in April to get the cheapest option. If not, now is the right time to do it. It is wise to accept the fact that the flight price in August would be higher than during the rest of the year due to the arrival season at all the universities. You do not have to wait for your Swedish permit to arrive for booking the flight tickets.

Be part of the digital events

The digital events are organised for new students where you can get valuable information about various topics that prepare you for your arrival at KTH. There are two webinars planned for this month – Arrival at KTH and KTH Student Union. Both the webinars will guide you through the final steps of your journey to KTH. You can register for the webinar and also post questions here.
