The first step towards applying to KTH – Researching the right master programme

It is that time of the year where you will be involved in intensely researching various options for your study destination. Depending on the field of interest, I was looking for universities in the US, France, Germany, Italy and Sweden. You can read about my reasons for choosing Sweden and KTH here. This blog post is your guide to navigating through the master programmes available at KTH and how you can contact the student ambassadors in the coming days.

QS World Ranking

The first thing that helped me filter universities was QS ranking. My preference was to apply to universities within the first 100 QS ranking. KTH has been ranked 89 on the ranking scale. What this means in simple terms is that a university with a better ranking has high research output, better standard of education, industry-relevant curriculum.

Master programme

You can find the master programme catalogue here. KTH offers 61 MSc programmes in English and in collaboration with other international universities. It is important to decide on what programme you would like to pursue and not wait till the beginning of the application period. Each programme will have entry requirements such as SOP, LOR and English language tests. It is wise to plan this accordingly.

Make use of student ambassadors

KTH assigns current master programme students to answers any of your queries regarding education and curriculum at KTH. Each master programme will have a student ambassador that you can reach out to through email. This is an opportunity to ask any questions about the programme and customise your application accordingly.

I hope this blog was useful for you. If you have any further questions, feel free to post them in the comment section below.
