When applying to a new programme, gathering all the documents and following the requirements can feel frustrating in a new country. How excited are you to start a new chapter at KTH? Are you ready to open a new page? We will go together step-by-step through the application manual!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  1. First, you should select your master’s degree programme. All the master’s programmes are explained on the kth.se<\/a> website. I would recommend reading and analysing each programme in depth. Most importantly, contact student ambassadors of the programme you have chosen and ask them questions<\/a> about anything! I have met them all myself, and I can assure you they would be glad to answer all your questions!<\/li>\r\n
  2. Check admission requirements for your specific programme\/-s. You must have academic qualifications equivalent to a Swedish bachelor’s degree. Also, have proof of English proficiency. If you have graduated with a bachelor’s programme in the United Kingdom, as I did, it will be counted as your proof of fluency in English. Lucky us, right? Otherwise, you need to get an IELTS or TOEFL certificate or another kind of proof<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n
  3. You are all set when you have gathered all the programme-specific documentation! Apply to KTH through university admissions<\/a> by creating an account. Note: the application period runs from 17 October until 16 January. You don’t want to leave it to the last minute, do you? Or are you the last-minute person? Then select the programmes you wish to apply and do not forget to put them in ascending order!<\/li>\r\n
  4. It is time to submit your application documents. You will be asked to submit general documents, such as a copy of your passport and a transcript (a record of the courses taken in your previous education). Eventually, the programme-specific documents should be uploaded, such as a letter of motivation, resum\u00e9, and a summary sheet. Tip for architecture students: If you are applying for a master’s programme in architecture as I did, submitting a portfolio of your previous education is an additional requirement<\/a>. That is a document you should spend a lot of time editing and thoroughly reviewing the layout and details.<\/li>\r\n
  5. After uploading documentation, check your country’s requirements<\/a>. If you are outside the EU, there may be an application fee in order to complete your application. This can be paid directly on the university admissions website.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Phew! I think we did it together! After all these ‘small’ steps, your application is complete! Treat yourself to a nice drink…<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
