The student will contribute towards exploring different measurement techniques for circular cities in the context of energy flows.

Circular economy is one of the strategies guiding the demand for sustainable urban transformation among cities across EU. As cities commit to moving towards a low-carbon economy, a circular economy framework could offer a cohesive model for change. Energy systems that are resilient, renewable, localised, distributed and foster effective energy use, financially viable and creating a positive sustainability impact are among key elements of desirable transitions to a circular urban economy. The project “Framework for assessing urban circularity” aims to develop measurement indexes for evaluating circularity. The student will contribute towards exploring different measurement techniques for circular cities in the context of energy flows.
