Sweden is not on track to meeting our national or EU climate targets for 2030 or 2045. In this internal seminar for KTH researchers, we will hear a presentation of the 2026 Swedish Climate Policy Council report (launched 19 March). Based on this analysis, we will discuss policy options to close the gaps and what are barriers to the climate transition in the Swedish context – political, technological, social, financial. What does KTH research and expertise tell us about feasible, effective and needed ways forward? What is the role and what are the constraints of KTH as an educator of future engineers and as a testbed for innovations?
