Cities are essential to biological diversity and at the same time urbanisation, along with climate change, is one of the main drivers of biodiversity decline worldwide. At the same time, there are numerous initiatives across the world for greening cities and there is an urge to involve residents in the planning, design and management of urban greenery. This workshop will focus on experiences from ongoing initiatives and potential for new ideas, with presentations by scholars from KTH:

  • Postdoc Oscar Hartman Davies on the UK youth-led nature recovery initiative, Youngwilders

  • MSc thesis student Alexandra Krimer on biodiversity literacy among youngsters in Sweden

We will provide some vegetarian food for the participants.

This student workshop is organised within the project Swedish Citizen Science Lab for Urban Biodiversity
