The PDC Centre for High-Performance Computing and the Swedish e-Science Research Centre (SeRC) welcome you to the very first seminar of a new seminar series hosted at PDC which will feature one invited speaker every month. The first seminar will be given by Prof. Hedvig Kjellström, and it will take place on Thursday, September 28, at 12:00-13:00, in the SeRC meeting room at PDC (5thfloor in Teknikringen 14). The title of the talk will be "Building machines that understand human body language". Professor Kjellström is well known for her work in computer vision and perception, and apart from being Professor of Computer Science at KTH she is also Head of Department of Robotics, Perception and Learning (RPL) at KTH as well as Affiliate Professor at Perceiving Systems at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Germany.

This new seminar series will serve as an informal setting for SeRC members and other interested parties to meet, discuss, exchange ideas and listen to inspiring presentations by outstanding researchers on various topics in e-science. The seminars will be around 30 minutes long and followed by discussions over light refreshments. We encourage you come to this event and help us establish the seminar series as a valued tradition within SeRC.
