Cristina Alonso-Fernández: Game Learning Analytics: Applications of Data analysis in Serious Games


Abstract

When applied to serious or educational games, learning analytics collects players’ interaction with the aim of understanding their process and behaviors in gameplays and improving the game design. In this talk, we will revise several applications of game learning analytics in various contexts and for different purposes such as games for learning, games to raise awareness about bullying or gender stereotypes.

Bio
Cristina Alonso-Fernández is an Associate Professor with the Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Department, Faculty of Computer Science, Complutense University of Madrid, and a member of the e-UCM research group. She received her PhD in Computer Science from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) in 2021, her MS degree in Data Mining and Business Intelligence from the UCM, and her two BS degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the UCM. Her research interest includes learning analytics, serious games, and the application of data mining techniques for their improvement and student learning assessment.
