Welcome to the CTS Lunch Seminar Series
The Vancouver City Council for Regional Transportation and the board of the regional public transport operator (TransLink) are interested in the potential contribution of a mobility pricing system to managing the growing problem of road congestion across Metro Vancouver. An independent committee has been formed with the mission to examine possibilities, analyse the suggested measures out of a transport, fairness and economic perspective and provide recommendations.
WSP Advisory in Sweden have provided expertise in the project by
- sharing knowledge with the committee and other stakeholders regarding the introduction of pricing systems in Sweden and elsewhere,
- forming the basis for building congestion charging scenarios and
- performing the analysis, often by finding innovative quantitative indicators for complicated concepts, such as fairness.
The analyses give a clearer picture of what can be achieved with various system designs and pricing levels; conclusions that will be significant input for the next phase of the project, which is already underway.
In this presentation, we navigate through the project, discuss the methods we have used in creating and evaluating scenarios in accordance to the committee’s goals and principles and summarise our findings.
The seminar will be held in English.
