Collaboration between KTH, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and the company HL Display AB has resulted in novel sustainable solutions for company’s products that have been implemented on the market. The project focused on finding fossil free materials that could substitute the ones used in the production today. IVL, through life cycle assessment, investigated how a plastic product affects the environment during its entire life cycle, from extraction of raw materials to end-of-life management. KTH provided knowledge and information on suitable biobased materials with the right material properties to produce high quality products. This presentation will give an overall picture of collaboration between academia, research institute and industry from the different perspectives while striving to find and implement new solutions to create a fossil free society.

The lecture is held together with Sebastian Welling, IVL and Jonas Marking, HL Display AB.
