Job description
Successful candidates will conduct research in the area of graphical models and causality with Liam Solus and other members of the mathematics department at KTH. Of particular interest are problems related to implementation and theoretical analysis of causal discovery algorithms, causal inference methods in context-specific settings and causal inference for big data.
The position is a time-limited, full-time, one year position (with the possibility of extension) starting September 2022 or at an agreed upon date (either earlier or later). The successful applicant will be a member of the new Department of Mathematics for Data and AI at KTH, a quickly growing group working in the mathematical foundations of AI and data science with several faculty, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students working within the field of graphical models and causality. The position is either full-time including 20% teaching responsibilities (about one course per year) or part-time (80% of full time) with no teaching responsibilities. The position is financed through the Göran Gustafsson Stiftelse.

Qualifications
A PhD degree awarded or to be awarded before the starting date of the position. We seek candidates with a background in areas related to one of the following: graphical models, causality, mathematical statistics, or algebraic statistics. The successful application will be a highly motivated researcher, capable of working both independently as well as in collaboration with other researchers.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree
Preferred qualifications
Strong research results in graphic models and/or causality
Great emphasis will be placed on scientific skills personal competency
Good knowledge in at least one programming language: python, scala, C++ or R
Teaching ability
The ability to work towards research results being utilised in practice.
The ability to inform about research and development work
Experience of developing and leading activities and staff.
Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.
