Changes in library service in Kista from 17 January

Published Nov 22, 2022

During spring 2023 the physical books in Kista will be moved to the main library at KTH Campus. The library's presence in Kista remains with teaching on site, and extensive digital support in the form of more literature online and librarians you can contact online or by phone.

The reason behind this is that the usage of the physical library has declined with few visits and questions per day. At the same time, The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) are going to develop Campus Kista and are planning to use the library space for other activities.

The subjects that the book collection in Kista covers are suitable to provide in electronic format since it is important to offer the latest editions. KTH Library has added to the electronical collection and will continue to keep it updated. The physical books will be moved from Kista to the main library.

During the pandemics the digital services at KTH Library have been developed and consultations and seminars are now offered digital. Support is available by chat, phone or e-mail. KTH Library will keep being a part of programmes in Kista with offering teaching activites.

A group with students and teachers from The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, together with representatives from KTH Library will work to make sure that all needs are being met. They will also find new areas for collaboration between the school and the library.
