Ellen Bäck is the winner of KTH Library's design challenge!

Published Sep 11, 2020

We are proud to present the winner of the KTH Library patch design competition – Ellen Bäck!

Ellen Bäck

This Spring semester, the library launched a competition to design a KTH Library patch. We received a lot of great contributions, but the jury’s immediate favourite was the design submitted by Ellen Bäck. Her design captures the architectural essence of the beautiful KTH Library, and is both simple and ingenious.

Ellen Bäck is on her third year of Media Technology studies, and we were not surprised to hear that she has also been to art school. This is not the first time Ellen has designed a patch – she’s been active in the scout movement and has previously designed several camp patches there.

When she designed the KTH Library patch, Ellen sought inspiration in the round features that can be found throughout the main library, and the iconic staircase that leads up to the terrace.

And now Ellen will be able to add her own KTH Library patch to her tailcoat!

The KTH Library patch can not be bought, but it will be handed out to students for the completion of certain library-related tasks.

Congratulations once again to Ellen!
