New service: Find your perfect study space at KTH Library

Are you looking for a quiet environment, a space for group work with access to a whiteboard, or perhaps a height-adjustable desk? KTH Library is now launching a new digital service that makes it easier to find a space that suits your needs for the day.

Spacefinder at KTH Library

KTH Library houses hundreds of study spaces of varying character. We are now launching the beta version of KTH Library Spacefinder where you can explore our selection and filter to find the environment you are looking for. The idea is to make it easy to get an overview of all the possible options, so that you know what to expect before you arrive.

The service is inspired by similar ones at the universities of Cambridge, Leeds and Delft, amongst others.

In the service, you can:

  • Filter by needs: Set your preferences for noise levels, equipment, environment, and facilities.

  • Sort: For example, you can choose to display the results based on the floor level or the number of seats.

  • View current status: Some areas are equipped with occupancy sensors, and for these, you can see the current status during our opening hours: Plenty of space, Half full, or Very busy right now.

  • Find your way: Links to maps help you locate the space within the building.

  • Find group study rooms: Explore the equipment and layout of the group study rooms. The current booking status for the group study rooms is displayed during the library's opening hours. See if a room is available and use the link to book it straight away.

Renovations in progress

The renovation of the library will continue during the autumn term. Please bear with us through the mess – the premises will be even better! New furniture and more power sockets are being installed, all group study rooms will be equipped with whiteboards, and much more. The new service will be updated with pictures and information as we complete the work.
