Open Access Week

It is time for the annual Open Access Week, October 24th to 30th. The library will draw attention to this by setting up pop up-desks around campus, giving hands on support to researchers who wish to make their articles Open Access.

The Open Access Week is a global event established by SPARC, the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition. This years theme is . Open Access means that research results are published freely on the internet and is becoming increasingly important as many research funders today mandate that the research they finance should be published freely available online. The KTH for scholarly publishing states that researchers at KTH should strive to publish Open Access. Freely available research results are distributed quicker, have greater impact and accelerate scientific progress, something that benefits researchers as well as society.

During this year´s Open Access Week, the KTH Library will offer advice and instructions to KTH researchers who wish to make their research articles freely accessible using the KTH publication database DiVA or by other means.
