Take the chance to test AI tools
AI is playing an increasing role in how we search and retrieve information. There is now a wide range of tools that use AI to search and summarise literature.
KTH Library is currently running trial periods on a number of these AI tools so that we can evaluate their usefulness for KTH together. Until mid-October, we have access to Scite, Scopus AI and Web of Science Research Assistant.
In addition, we can test and compare these with Primo Research Assistant, an AI function that has recently been integrated into the library's search tool Primo.
What the tools have in common is that they use large language models (LLMs) together with reference databases to provide summaries and references.
The tools can be used for a first overview of a new topic area you are exploring, to get ideas for search strategies, and more.
Future subscriptions to these tools cannot be guaranteed, so your help in testing and evaluating is essential to make informed decisions. Please fill in the evaluation form or contact us!

Scite
Scite has an ‘Assistant’ that provides summarised answers with citations and pulls information from open access sources and publishers such as Wiley and BMJ. The Smart Citations feature shows how many other reports support, contradict or mention the selected report, which can provide an overview of the topic area.

Scopus AI
Scopus is Elsevier's database for abstracts and citations. Scopus AI, an add-on, searches publications from 2013 onwards, and creates abstracts with references. It includes an Extended Summary, graphical representations of keywords, the most influential articles, leading researchers and suggestions for follow-up questions.
