Research on the interrelation between politics and architecture has been conducted intensively by Prof Takashi Mikuriya, University of Tokyo, and has been a part of programs at the Open University of Japan. This research project is aimed at showing how politics has dictated conditions for buildings where political meetings take place. Simultaneously, the architecture of the buildings has influenced political affairs.

Assistant Professor Shin Sato is a co-researcher of the research project and has been working with Prof Mikuriya for many years. We are happy to invite him to Stockholm with Vitterhetsakademien’s help. Mr. Sato will give a lecture with much of visual material on Monday and will hold a workshop to show participants the working method of their research on Tuesday. Both events will be held in English.
