Title: Mechatronics & Robotics research activities in ABB Corporate Research

Abstract:

The presentation includes two parts. The first part gives a brief introduction to Robotics & Mechatronics group in ABB Corporate Research including on-going research activities. The second part is a deep dive research project example from one of Bin’s previous projects: how to develop control parameter auto-tuning solutions for a mining application.

Bio:

Bin Liu is a principal scientist in ABB Corporate Research since 2018. Bin has his PhD in Mechatronics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA), Beijing, China in 2011. The control algorithms and the software implementation developed during his PhD have been used in a satellite key component which has been launched into space in 2012. Bin has been working with many different industrial applications since he joined ABB in 2011.
