PDC Cafe on 22 January
Every month PDC welcomes users to an informal "PDC Cafe”. The next cafe will be held on Wednesday 22nd January from 10-12:00.
You can drop by, meet application experts and other HPC staff, discuss any HPC-related problems with your research and get useful advice, as well as enjoying coffee or tea and biscuits.
Time: Wed 2020-01-22 10.00 - 12.00
Location: SeRC room, 5th floor, Teknikringen 14, KTH
We meet in the "SeRC room", which is on the 5th floor at Teknikringen 14, right in the middle of the KTH main campus. So, if there's anything that you think could be improved - either in your own scripts, workflows or codes, or in the services that PDC provides - please drop by and discuss it with us; we would love to help! This is the place to get stuff done, so bring a laptop.
If there is anything in particular from your HPC research that you'd like to discuss with us, please give a brief description
so we can prepare.
Here are some suggestions for issues you could discuss:
- How to improve your run scripts
- Help with scripting
- Help with programming and software management
- Help with project organization and data management
- Help with Linux stuff
- How to improve the performance of your calculations
- “Papercuts”: things that annoy you and how we can fix that
- How to improve services
- Project ideas
- Learn about cool services that you may not know yet
Sometimes, there may be a short presentation on a useful topic, but you will still be welcome to ask questions of the other staff before, during, and after the presentation.
Similar events at other Nordic locations
In case you are not based near KTH, there are other high performance computing centres and university departments that welcome researchers to similar events.
