Division of Geodesy and Satellite Positioning
Historically, research activities in geodesy at KTH have been well-known internationally. Research records date back to the periods when professor Arne Bjerhammar was still active within the Division. He made much pioneer research in the fields of physical geodesy, generalized matrix calculus, electronic distance measurements and land uplift studies.
Today, research within geodesy is carried out in the Division of Geodesy and Satellite Positioning where we continue the research tradition on physical geodesy, adjustment theory, etc. But we are also doing research on GPS and GNSS for positioning and navigation, on land surveying and laser scanning.
