Welcome to Green Leap

Green Leap is a network for design and sustainable development that is being established at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in collaboration with Konstfack - University College or Arts, Crafts and Design. The general goal of Green Leap is act as a catalyst for change by involving design in sustainable development. The initiative is supported by the Swedish Energy Agency which has realised that changed attitudes and behavior is key to a sustainable future.

The key element in our operation is the combination of design and sustainable development. Our partners could be divided into three categories: Design Industry, Academy and Research plus consultancies and organisations. The work is directed into three areas: to act as a matchmaker between our partners, to share knowledge through courses, workshops, the Green Leap website and conferences and to take action by initiating and managing projects that in different ways brings us closer to our goal – a sustainable society. One umbrella project is “Prototyping the future” where we want to bring life to a sustainable society through design driven visualisations that people can understand, consider and relate to.

A Car-free Year

Everyday life with light vehicles. We have kidnapped the car from three families with children, read soon about how they are doing.

EcoDesign Circle

Green Leap is part of the project EcoDesign Circle, a new EU-funded project forming a competence network based on circular economy, ecological design and life cycle design in the Baltic Sea region.

Prototyping the Future

Together with Veryday Design we have created a visualisation of what the future in a sustainable society might look like.
