Nandi joined the division in February 2016 to complete her MSc thesis, as the fulfilment of her Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering at KTH. Her thesis focused on the Sustainable development goals (SDGs) and how the goals together with the policies in Kenya could be realised considering the CLEWs nexus. The main focus areas in the CLEWs analysis was for Kenya a GIS optimisation for off-grid and grid solution (OnSSET), optimization of the power production (OSeMOSYS) together with a Water and Land analysis (WEAP) (covering the Tana catchment). Prior to the masters programme she worked at Ericsson for five years where the last two years as Strategic Improvement Manager with big data discovery/analytics and project managing IT-development in Microsoft platform as well as process development within Supply.
She subsequently joined the dESA team as a Research Engineer to work on a World Bank infrastructure outlook for South America with the development of several hundreds of scenarios based on SAMBA in OSeMOSYS in order to identify the main drivers of future investment needs following a Robust Decision Making approach.
Nandi holds a Masters degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering and a degree of Master of Education (Mathematics and Civics).
