Vignesh joined KTH- division of Energy Systems Analysis in October 2012. At dESA, his main focus is on the applications of OSeMOSYS, the open-source energy modelling system for developing country level energy systems models. His other area of focus is Integrated assessments using the CLEWs (Climate, Land Use, Energy and Water strategies) methodology. He is currently involved in a CLEWs study of Uganda to assess the impacts of Climate change on its Energy and Water infrastructure. In addition to the CLEWs activities he works in close collaboration with United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs to train the energy ministry personnel in robust modelling based policy formulation. In the past he was involved in a World Bank project, in collaboration with RAND corporation and Stockholm Environmental Institute (SEI) to develop long term energy system models for the different African Power pools. The objective of this project was to assess the resilience of African Energy infrastructure to Climate change. These Energy models developed in OSeMOSYS could eventually be used as to help energy policy formulation in the respective countries.
