Master's Studies

At ECS, five M.Sc. courses are given to fourth- and fifth-year students at KTH. Our courses are unique in their content and aim at preparing engineering students to address energy policy and climate change issues. ECS is also coordinating a study profile for MSc. students and provides opportunities for M.Sc. Thesis projects supervised by researchers at our unit.

M.Sc. Courses

Our courses, Energy Planning and Applications  (9.0 ECTS),  Energy Policy and Planning  (6.0 ECTS), Strategies in the Global Climate Agenda  (6.0 ECTS), Theory and Methodology of Science for Energy Research  (6.0 ECTS), and Research Project in Energy and Climate Studies  (18.0 ECTS), primarily target students enrolled in the M.Sc. programs at KTH, but are also available as stand-alone courses ('fristående kurs') for students enrolled at other universities.

M.Sc. Study Profile

ECS is offering in collaboration with the Division of Energy Systems Analysis (dESA) and the Department of Industrial Economics and Management (INDEK)  a study profile for the MSc. Program Sustainable Energy Engineering (SEE). The title of the study profile is "Transformation of Energy Systems: Policy and Management". In total, 9 courses comprise the study profile, both compulsory and elective. 

Students in the second semester of their studies are welcome to join our study profile!

M.Sc. Thesis projects

ECS offers opportunities for students to their M.Sc. Thesis project supervised by a researcher from our unit. A variety of topics have been investigated and we continuously post new openings for specific topics. It is also possible to contact one of our researchers directly if you have a specific topic in mind.

Doing your M.Sc. Thesis project  at ECS can lead to employment in industry as well as different NGO's. Please, read more about our students experiences in the  section.
