The focus of my research is aeroelasticity in turbomachines and currently I am investigating which are the factors that may have influence on low pressure turbine flutter. Flutter stands for unstable condition where blade oscillations under certain circumstances can increase rapidly in amplitude and lead to fatigue. To know how the flutter depends on aerodynamic asymmetries in blade cascades, blade tip clearance and increased blade loading is of great importance for aircraft engine manufacturers. The goal of my research is to gain, by conducting numerical simulations and experimental testing, better understanding about how important these parameters are in respect to turbomachinery flutter.  Another area of interest important for understanding of flutter phenomena in transonic turbomachines is the interaction between shock waves and boundary layer /SW-BL), which I am currently investigating experimentally.
