SKD

System and Component Design

Overview

We are more than 30 active researchers, teachers and graduate students. The SKD division includes three professorial chairs, in machine elements, tribology and machine design. We strongly believe in the importance of mobility between industry and academia, we currently have 2 affiliated professors (Nynas AB and ABB) and 2 adjunct professors (Höganäs AB and Sheffield University) as well as 5 industrial PhD Students from Scania, Brembo and Atlas Copco.

Research

The research is focused on the development and integration of mechanical components into systems. Sustainability is the dominating driving force in our research projects
