PLASMAPILOT workshop
Investigations on flexible ladle preheating procedures using plasma heated refractory
This workshop is for you working in process industry, designing industrial equipments or engaged in research and development. Get some first results from a plasma heater test rig with a full-scale steelmaking ladle.
Time: Thu 2023-05-11 14.00 - 17.00
Location: Online and on-site at Politecnico Di Bari, 1st Floor (Piano 1), Room 2 (Stanza 2)
Language: English
Participating: Björn Glaser and more
About the workshop
The current RFCS pilot and demonstration project PLASMAPILOT investigates the necessities, technical requirements and opportunities of ladle preheating procedures using plasma by combining measurements, numerical modelling of ladle preheating processes and pilot trials at a plasma heater test rig with a fullscale steelmaking ladle. First results will be presented on assessment of plasma technology with regards to economic and environmental benefits, together with results from plant trials and laboratory investigations on refractory lifetime.
Target audience
- Process industry representatives
- Developers and designers of industrial equipments
- R&D experts focused on the development of materials and processes
- Research organization members
