AI and technological development are advancing at an unprecedented pace. Industry’s need for up-to-date skills and expertise is growing rapidly. How can we ensure that people continue to develop their competencies throughout increasingly long careers? And how can universities and higher education institutions respond to this demand?
The purpose of this conference is to take a significant step towards a system model for lifelong learning based on the following vision:
An effective, industry-endorsed, time-efficient and sustainably funded system in which higher education institutions and industry jointly create learning opportunities in advanced technology fields for people already in the workforce.
The conference builds on findings from the ADAPT research project and explores questions related to the future of education, industry skills needs, and how lifelong learning can become a driver of innovation and competitiveness. The programme includes presentations of current research results, practical examples, and collaborative discussions on the way forward. During lunch, a live-streamed panel discussion will be held featuring, among others, Maria Nilsson, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Research.
