We provide energy globally
Our Department of Energy Technology (EGI) is involved in several international projects financed by the UN and the World Bank. They aim to ensure access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy for all.
– Energy is key to the development of GDP, and we help developing nations get access to electrification technologies suited to their conditions and circumstances, says EGI Department Prefect, Björn Laumert.
Another field where EGI is very active is solar energy.
– We work together with countries like Morocco, Chile and Mexico, all of which want to expand their solar energy production. In cooperation with Swedish companies, we have developed tech for concentrating solar power to produce steam which can be used to drive turbines or as process heat, for example, in mining applications, says Professor Laumert.
