In this workshop we will go through ways to use the various assessment tools in Canvas to design learning activities and assessment. The aim is to inspire more ways to use Canvas and encourage more forms of assessment that fit the learning objectives.

Target audience

Teachers at KTH who want to develop their use of various assessment tools in Canvas.

Participants with basic knowledge of Canvas.

Preparation for the workshop

Register via the registration form .

Participants need to bring learning objectives for a course that they can use as a basis for the workshop activities, as well as a functioning sandbox in Canvas to work in.

Purpose

This workshop is aimed at teachers at KTH who want to develop their use of various assessment tools in Canvas. The aim of the workshop is to inspire and strengthen teachers' use of Canvas' various assessment tools in a way that suits the learning objectives of the course.

How the workshop is conducted

The workshop alternates between lectures and active moments where participants collaborate and discuss in small groups. Remember that the workshop depends on active participation and everyone's ideas and perspectives are valuable!

Learning objectives

After completing the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Create assignments in Canvas using the features:

    • Assignments

    • Quiz

    • Graded Discussion.

  • Choose which features or external tools best suits their intended learning outcomes and purpose.
