How it works

While having breakfast, we explore a new topic, use AI tools for research and ideation, and come up with new ideas.

If you are a student or researcher at KTH interested in using your skills to tackle global challenges, this event is for you. We also have some open spots for externals.

Join us if you’re interested in creating new solutions, want to meet new friends, or want to try using AI to explore ideas. You’re also welcome if you just like breakfast.

Why sustainable societies

Building sustainable societies is one of the defining challenges of our time. From providing access to affordable and clean energy to ensuring food security and developing early warning systems for natural disasters, we need to rethink how societies function in the face of climate change and growing global needs.

Today, around 675 million still live without electricity  and nearly 1 in 10 people face hunger globally . At the same time, extreme weather events have doubled over the last 20-year period .

At this session, we will focus on real challenges, explore early ideas, and build on each other’s perspectives. A space to test concepts, connect with others, and take the first steps toward shaping the societies of the future.

Our core principles

Co-creation and creativity

We work together and tackle problems in new ways.

Open and curious

We are open to new ideas and curious about other peoples’ perspectives.

Explore AI

We use AI tools to do research, formulate ideas, and start building new solutions. We try new things and learn as we go along.

Organizers

This event is organized by KTH Innovation in collaboration with Engineers Without Borders , an independent nonprofit using engineering expertise to support disadvantaged communities worldwide, focusing on education, equality, sustainable energy, and clean water.
