On 14 October, KTH Innovation welcomes CMPC, a global leader within the paper and pulp industry to share how they are leveraging innovation and collaborating with startups to develop the next generation of sustainable materials and forestry technologies.

CMPC Ventures
come to KTH Innovation in search of research and startups that are making the next generation of sustainable materials and forestry technologies.
During the event, they will share how they are innovating and collaborating with startups to create more sustainable materials and forestry operations, and present existing business challenges where they seek external innovation.
Researchers, students, and startup founders with interest in:
New materials from biorefinery: lignin, nanocelluloses and biofuels
Cellulose based textile fibers and fiber recycling
Sustainable biobased packaging
Wood and new materials for constructions
Digitalization and circularity of industrial and forestry processes
Individual meetings for startups
A limited number of pre-selected startups from KTH will get the chance to sit down for a 1-1 meeting with CMPC representatives to explore future possibilities for collaboration.

CMPC is a global company based in Chile, operating in pulp, wood, packaging, and tissue sectors.
CMPC Ventures
is the innovation fund of CMPC, established to accelerate the incorporation of new technologies, the development of new products, and explore potential new business opportunities through strategic investments, pilot trials, venture clienting and R&D.
The fund targets verticals such as Sustainable Construction, Smart Forestry, Packaging, New Bioproducts, and Textile Fibers, and any innovative opportunity that has a connection with its current businesses or with forests in general.
CMPC typically invests in Seed or Series A rounds, with ticket size between USD 1-6 million.
CMPC has currently six investments and various R&D partnerships and pilots, including two in Sweden.
