Circular Food Systems in Cities: an Approach to Urban Sustainability
- with Cameron Kennett
Cameron Kennett is a PhD candidate who is pursuing his research jointly with IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Join this seminar about his contribution to the IVL FOCUSE project, where he examines the development of circular-based food production and provisioning in city regions.
Time: Wed 2026-04-22 12.00 - 13.00
Location: Torget (KTH Innovation, entrance floor)

Language: English
Participating: Cameron Kennett
With a background in ecological economics, Cameron's research investigates how cities produce and provision food, and how residual materials, nutrients and waste streams can be recirculated into regenerative production cycles. Alongside systems analysis, the project team also experiments in practice – from vertical farming technologies to alternative growing media, exploring how novel products can be valorised from what would otherwise be discarded.
After the seminar, Cameron will guide us through the Farming module at his team's lab at KTH Innovation – their ongoing project in urban-infrastructure symbiosis.
