KTH is organising and participating in several events during Almedalsveckan (Almedalen Week), which takes place in Visby June 22–26. President Anders Söderholm, researchers, and other KTH representatives will be on site to contribute to the public debate.
Throughout the week, politicians, government agencies, companies, and organisations will gather in Visby to discuss current social issues. Almedalen Week takes place during week 26, and this year’s program features nearly 3,000 events.
KTH is co-organising four panel discussions in collaboration with other universities. Additionally, the KTH Center for total defence is organising an event with Campus Total Defence, and Cybercampus Sweden will be on site to organise activities. KTH’s president, researchers and other KTH representatives will participate in numerous events organised by other organisations.
KTH President
Anders Söderholm
is looking forward to spending a few days in Almedalen.
KTH President Anders Söderholm.
Hi Anders, what are your plans for Almedalsveckan?
“I’m planning to participate in as many events as possible during the week. KTH is helping to organise several panel discussions with other universities, and I’m also taking part in panels, roundtable discussions and seminars organised by other organisations. It’s usually a packed schedule with lots of interesting conversations and meetings,” Anders Söderholm says.
You and a number of researchers and other KTH representatives will be there – why is it important to be in Almedalen?
“It’s a way to engage in the public debate and network. Being there and seeing what issues are on the agenda provides a reflection of the times and an opportunity to participate in shaping public opinion and exchanging experiences. Almedalsveckan is a bit like one long academic seminar.”
What do you hope to feel when you leave?
“You usually feel energised and inspired, almost a little high after all the discussions, and eager to tackle everything.”
