2013-04-23: ADOPT promotes optics and photonics at “Future Friday”
The " Future Friday " event, taking place on March 8 at KTH Kista campus, welcomed hundreds of scholars pondering over their higher education and professional careers. Optics and photonics, as an enabling technology for future Swedish industry, were promoted by ADOPT members. Prof. Jan Linnros and his group, Prof. Saulius Marcinkevicius, and Prof. Alex Grishin shared their instrumentations, results, and passions about their research to the young students.

In particular, researchers and PhD students from the group lead by Prof. Jan Linnros demonstrated advanced instruments and measurement technique allowing to directly look inside the nano-world. Representatives from Optics/Photonics group (Prof. Saulius Marcinkevicius) explained physical background behind optical effects and demonstrated some applications: principles of fiber optical communication and functionality of imaging systems. Prof. Alex Grishin shared his research results on novel magneto-optical materials of superior performance which have great potential for integrated photonics.
