Uppsala University

At Uppsala the courses in nuclear energy technology are provided within the masters programmes at Uppsala University, in particular Applied Physics, Energy Systems and Systems in Technology and Society, and also in cooperation with KSU, responsible for education of operators for Swedish nuclear power plants.

A Bachelors program on nuclear engineering starts autumn 2010, in the form of a third-year specialization within the existing mechanical engineering program. Students with at least two years of studies in mechanical or electric engineering at any Swedish university can apply to this program. The teaching is provided both by academic teachers and industry specialists, and part of the studies are undertaken at industrial facilities.
