Master's Degree Project at KTH Vehicle Dynamics

The M.Sc. thesis is a sort of final engineering project. The scope of the thesis is 30 ECTS, which corresponds to approximately 5 months full-time work, i.e. the final semester.

The project can be carried out at a university or research institute but it is also commonly done in industry with an industry supervisor. The project may be part of a scientific effort at the university, a conceptual design study or engineering assignment in the industry, or similar. However, it should deal with the engineering discipline the student has been trained in. There are no specific rules for what type of work that can be accepted as a thesis project, and it is hence beneficial that the lay-out, contents and scope of the suggested project is discussed with the Department prior to any further engagement.

The internal projects are usually related to the research going on at our division. You will carry out the work in the rooms of the division. A supervisor will guide you through the project.

External projects are carried out in cooperation with a company. You will then solve a company-specific problem with supervision from someone at the company. You will also have a supervisor from KTH Vehicle Dynamics, but normally the day-to-day supervision will be provided by the company.
